I believe that what you are about to do is a stepping stone for you to achieve your dreams. There is nothing wrong with what you did and I do think that this will really help you become the best version of yourself. If I will be given all the resources that I need, I will surely do the same thing. I will invest in this kind of opportunity so that I can pursue the things that I really want to do. I am not sure what it is as of the moment but I am sure that it is not too late for me yet.
